My best friend from high school came to visit me in NYC during the beginning of September. She stayed at my place for two weeks. I took her around to the different places in the city. Sadly, the weather wasn’t very encouraging, it rained most of the days my friend was here, causing the temperature to drop. Niether of us liked the rain nor the chill breeze. (We came from a country that is hot all year long!)
We escaped New York’s miserable weather to the lovely Boston’s sunshine. It was a great relaxing weekend. Boston was unlike New York; the city has a slower pace, yet it’s still able to keep the fun within. There were a lot of kids my age. Just by walking around Harvard campus makes me and my friends feel like all those people are our friends. It is really a university city, for there are so many universities in Boston and Cambridge. People there are nice and kind, very polite and helping. Not that I don’t like New York, I actually love it so much, but Boston was a great escape from the city’s busy lifestyle! This is my third time in Boston, and never it disappoint me. Boston has me since I first entered the cute little city, it still does now.
A weekend in Boston was by far very fun, especially when you get to spend it with your best friend that you haven’t met for over a year. We went to the different sightseeing spots; Harvard University, Harvard Square, MIT, downtown Boston, Top of the Hub, etc. We went around eating, but the best part was our last lunch in Boston. We went to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. I’ve been longing to eat the cheesecake for so long, for they don’t have it in NYC! We rented bikes and ride around the city, both daytime and nighttime. But to top it all was we went kayaking in the Charles River! It was my first time kayaking ever because I’ve always been afraid of the water because I cannot swim! But after I went on the water with my friend, it wasn’t so bad after all! I found it a lot easier to paddle when compare to the rowing boat in Central Park!
All in all, it was a great start of September; having your best friend visiting and we got to travel together, though it was not a far travel, but every second spent was so memorable. Boston has been one of my favorite cities that I’ve been to, it is still now.
How about you guys? Is there any places you’ve been to that was so memorable for you? Please share them with me.
